Torrent

This is Torrent, a character from my fanfiction Amaranthine.  I've been working on this for a week or two now, but I only actually worked on it a few days.  Sorry for my inactivity; I just started school and I'm so INCREDIBLY EXHAUSTED when I get home, so I haven't had the chance to draw much later.

This is mostly a style test for the painting-y style that I tried out with the YCH.  I was planning on doing another big drawing as well, so I decided to make it this one.  Originally the cat was standing on a beach (i believe) but when I decided to make said cat Torrent I was like "well torrent wouldn't be on a beach so i'll do the twilight hunters' territory"

Almost 3/4 of the time I spend on this picture was on the background.  Most of the remaining time was shading.  Both were pretty difficult, mostly because it took forever to try to think of a new kind of flower to add and figure out a decent style of shading.  I'm pretty happy with how it came out, but I accidentally hid my two favorite trees behind those trees in the front.  Oops.
